Dishwasher Cubes

These little "beauties" are dishwasher cubes.  As you can tell from my picture, I molded these in an ice cube tray, but other molds would definitely make a cuter finished product.  These cubes are made from Borax, Washing Soda, Epsom Salts, and Lemon Juice.

  1. Do they work well? I always had trouble with the dry dishwasher soaps not dissolving properly.

    1. I know exactly what you mean about the powdered detergents leaving traces of the powder behind in the machine. I don't have a problem with any residue on the dishes. I think these work better than traditional powder, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it's the same as a liquid. Overall, I'm fairly happy with them, but if I experiment with the next batch more and find any improvements, I'll let you know!

    2. I checked with my mother who used three over the weekend. She said her cubes dissolved completely and left no residue in the machine or dishes. She also said they did a great job cleaning the dishes.
