Zig Zag Hat

No pattern to share on this one, but there are a ton of these available already.  I wanted a simple beanie and I like how this one turned out.  I used worsted weight (4 ply) yarn and an I (5.5 mm) hook.

Puff Stitch Hat

While I did not use a specific pattern for the brim of this hat, and had to make several changes due to the difference in yarn size, you can get the basic pattern idea by looking here.  I made it with bulky yarn and a 5.5 mm hook.  I started with six puffs at the top and increased each row until it was the appropriate circumference.  I then worked the hat in even rows until it was about .5" from the length I wanted.  I then did one row of sc and three rows of camel stitches.

Blue Box

I have been in a hat making mood lately and when I saw this pattern, I definitely wanted to give it a try.

Chameleon Beanies

This was a fun pattern and works up so quickly.  It gets its name from the ability to change the look of the hat just by changing the amount of colors used and/or the order they are used in.  I was able to make four of these hats from two skeins of yarn and I even had some yarn left over.  I made the adult sized hats.

Get the Ravelry pattern here.

Mermaid Tail

This mermaid tail was made for my other niece (see the other, earlier posts for what I made my other nieces and nephews.)

This is the only one I made with bulky yarn and it definitely made a positive difference in the length of time it took to get this done.  I did not use a pattern for this tail.

Bone Bag

Another holiday gift that I can finally share!  I made this fun twist on a blanket for my nephew.  I hope he loves it as much as I do.  This is from a Spider Mambo Designs pattern and can be found here.

Fossilized Mermaid Tails

Now that the holidays are over, I can share one of the projects I was so excited to give.  For my two older nieces, I made these fossilized mermaid tail blankets.  This is an awesome Spider Mambo Design that can be found here.

This is such a fun take on the mermaid tail blanket trend.

I made these quick little coffee cup cozies from two free patterns.  The first is the 15 minute cozy which can be found here.  The second is a Red Heart pattern, previously listed on my blog in this post.

Shark Blanket

While I see some room for improvement in this shark blanket, I made it for my nephew.  I did not follow a specific pattern, but I still hope he will be pleased with how he turned out.  This is one of the blankets you slide your legs into.

Happy New Year!

I made these before Christmas as a gift, but if you have a few hours, you can quickly whip out these cute little winter themed finger puppets.  The pattern is free on Ravelry and you can get it by clicking here.

My face making skills still need some work, but I'm still happy with this polar bear, penguin, and snowman.
