Here's My Heart Gift Bag

I made Red Heart North America's Here's my Heart Gift Bag after seeing their post on Instagram.  It works up quickly and is cute, but I do not know that mine looks much like the traditional Valentine heart, especially if not for the white trim around the smallest heart, which serves as a pocket on the front of the bag.  I probably should have blocked the pieces first.    

Instead of the handle in the pattern, I made my own quick handle.  You could also just increase the length of the side panel to make a handle that is sewn in one piece.

Chevron Bags

I have never gotten in to the Chevron Bag craze, but I thought these little bags were adorable and so I whipped up a couple of them on Thanksgiving for the visiting nieces.  The pattern is available for free on Ravelry.

Flaming Skulls Backpack

Test Pattern!  I especially love the flames behind the skulls.  

I made the small, one strand version of this pack. The lining makes the pack extra sturdy. I really like it.

The body is about 12.5”x12.5”. I made my strap about 40” in length. As the time this post was written, the pattern had not been published, but look for it on the designer's page soon.  

Burlap Sack Bag

My youngest and I recently attended a program about survival.  During the program, the man presenting the information showed us the bag he made when he was a young boy that he still used every time he was out doing wilderness training.  He said none of the expensive bags he purchased over the years could stand up anything compared to the one he made himself.  

Inspired by his simple design, we decided to create one ourselves.  We lined ours with a muslin fabric and stitched the entire thing together with z stitches.  It is durable and strong.  I'm not sure yet what specifically it will be used for, but it was quick and fun to put together.

Messenger bag

Simple messenger style bag.  Cupcakes on the outside and lined with the heart fabric of the strap on the inside.  Fastens with a blue rose button.
